The Club has its own range, which was completely modernised and soundproofed in 1987, and has been further upgraded on several occasions since. This is situated in Springfield Road, opposite the school.
The Club provides a variety of 0.22 rifles, match quality air rifles and air pistols for Members' use. We also have Qualified shooting Coaches, including County & National Coaches, for both Rifle and Pistol.
The indoor range has 5, 20 yard shooting lanes, certified for 0.22 rifles in 3 positions, standing, kneeling and prone and centre fire, pistol-calibre rifles, standing position only. It is equipped with turning targets at 20 yards and with target changers for 10 metre airgun shooting. We have also much improved lighting systems for both the 20yd targets and the 10 metre targets together with improved lighting over the firing points.
Shooters with physical disabilities are welcome. There is a ramp, giving wheelchair access and full disabled toilet facilities. Assistance with rifle support is also available.
Range Closure
Regretably the Wantage Target Shooting Club is closed until further notice in accordance with Government instructions
Keep your eyes on the website and we will update the information as soon as we have any further information.
1st January 2021
All Club members please note: With immediate effect, all club memberships are extended until end of May 2021. This should help to avoid the big rush when we eventually open and assist those with FAC's for renewal.
November 26th Update.
The committee have had a zoom meeting planned to discuss the re-opening of the range as we were in tier one. Today as you probably know Oxfordshire was moved up into tier 2 which completely scuppered any plans we had for re-opening. Consequently we have agreed that it is unlikely that we will be able to reopenthe range until the new year and we are baack in tier 1 or the vaccine has been launched. Even then it may be some time well into the new year. We will be monitoring things closely and the slightest hint of relaxation in the situation will put the information on this website. Keep safe everyone and have a healthy and Happy Christmas

Covid 19 update.
I am sure we are all eager and ready to get going with the sport we all love..and hate ...depending on scores! However the latest guidelines preclude us opening at this stage.
Our Insurers, Bluefin and the NSRA have issued a set of guidelines before indoor ranges can re-open.The full details are here:-https://www.nsra.co.uk/index.php/news/233-administration/2943-get-ready-to-open-revised-nsra-guidance-notes-16-july-2020
Accordingly the committee have agreed to get the range deep cleaned by contractors and a new ventilation system installed. We are currently awaitining estimates for these works to be carried out.
UPDATE.
Estimates have been obtained and agreed. Work starts on the ventilation system week beginning 28th September with the deep clean and de-lead a few days afterwards. We will hope to re-open with some restrictions shortly afterwards. What this entails we will be discussing in committee shortly.
Latest news.
The club has been deep cleaned, de-leaded and the new ventilation system installed. Once we have had a committee meeting to discuss the way we can open...see the NRA website about indoor ranges we will announce it here.
Take Care, keep safe
