The Club provides a variety of 0.22 rifles, match quality air rifles and air pistols for Members' use.   We also have Qualified shooting Coaches, including County & National Coaches, for both Rifle and Pistol.

The indoor range has 5, 20 yard shooting lanes, certified for 0.22 rifles in 3  positions, standing, kneeling and prone and centre fire, pistol-calibre rifles, standing position only. It is equipped with turning targets at 20 yards and with target changers for 10 metre airgun shooting. Range Closure

Update as of 14th July

Well, its finally here. I am prepared to fully open the club from Monday 19th July. However I would expect sensible behaviour, ie masks whilst in close proximity in the club room but may be removed whilst shooting. As most of you may be aware we are not charging subscriptions for the rest of this year but come October it will be back to normal subs before the 31st of £!45.00 and £155.00 after that date.

Look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Regretably the Wantage Target Shooting Club is closed until further notice in accordance with Government instructions

Keep your eyes on the website and we will update the information as soon as we have any further information.

Update June 14th

Hi all, if you didn't hear the news we are still locked down now until the 19th of July. Partially opened as below, with numbers restricted in the range. Junior shooting is open on Saturdays, again with restricted numbers.

Latest update as of May 21st

The club is partially opened up to 6 people at any one time in the range, ie 5 shooters and the RCO/committee member.

We are planning to fully re-open from Monday June 21st, subject to the latest government rules of course.

Junior shooting will fully re-open on Saturday 26th.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again, best Regards

Latest news.

19th March 2021

There are now 4 concrete blocks across the entrance of the car park with a 3 metre gap between the centre two. This is to stop construction lorries tearing up the car park any more. The contractors will remove them when they have a date to re-surface the car park completley, date TBN, which they ahve agreed to do

23 February 2021.

Well it's official. From the 17th May indoor ranges are allowed to open. Hurrah. What I don't want to see is a mass arrival, all fighting for access. Obviously the 17th is a Monday so limited opening.

Wednesday I am hoping to open in the morning and evening as usual in order to get up to date with paperwork/ membership issues etc. By all means turn up and if there is a crowd then you will be asked to wait in your cars until I've dealt with the first rush. Keep Safe. Look forward to seeing everyone,

Decisions about Saturday club will be discussed later as Sandra wishes to stand down, leaving us without a child protection office.

PS this of course is if the governments plans work out but the NSRA seem to be pretty positive!!

1st January 2021

All Club members please note: With immediate effect, all club memberships are extended until end of May 2021. This should help to avoid the big rush when we eventually open and assist those with FAC's for renewal.

November 26th Update.

The committee have had a zoom meeting planned to discuss the re-opening of the range as we were in tier one. Today as you probably know Oxfordshire was moved up into tier 2 which completely scuppered any plans we had for re-opening. Consequently we have agreed that it is unlikely that we will be able to reopenthe range until the new year and we are baack in tier 1 or the vaccine has been launched. Even then it may be some time well into the new year. We will be monitoring things closely and the slightest hint of relaxation in the situation will put the information on this website. Keep safe everyone and have a healthy and Happy Christmas

Covid 19 update.

I am sure we are all eager and ready to get going with the sport we all love..and hate ...depending on scores! However the latest guidelines preclude us opening at this stage.

Our Insurers, Bluefin and the NSRA have issued a set of guidelines before indoor ranges can re-open.The full details are here:-https://www.nsra.co.uk/index.php/news/233-administration/2943-get-ready-to-open-revised-nsra-guidance-notes-16-july-2020

Accordingly the committee have agreed to get the range deep cleaned by contractors and a new ventilation system installed. We are currently awaitining estimates for these works to be carried out.

UPDATE.

Estimates have been obtained and agreed. Work starts on the ventilation system week beginning 28th September with the deep clean and de-lead a few days afterwards. We will hope to re-open with some restrictions shortly afterwards. What this entails we will be discussing in committee shortly.

Latest news.

The club has been deep cleaned, de-leaded and the new ventilation system installed. Once we have had a committee meeting to discuss the way we can open...see the NRA website about indoor ranges we will announce it here.

Take Care, keep safe
